Feels Like Fall Lyrics

Shadows they grow longer
like a laundry list
Shadows they grow longer
'til they don't exist
Somewhere between our story
and the dramatist
Here we are
I'll be 'round
'til I can't stand it anymore
A bunch of words
that I never have read before
are rolling through my mind
like it's a broken door
pushed with the breeze
I knew better
and I knew it didn't count

So I messed up
I screwed around
Faked the real meaning
Let it all go by
And finally
I'm left wonderin' why
It feels like fall
It feels like fall
It feels like fall
and it's spring
I am not competing with you
or against
It won't matter
if it's guilt or innocence
'cause I can still see you
But in between us
there's a fence
and here we are
I knew better
and I knew it didn't count
So I messed up
I screwed around
Faked the real meaning
Let it all go by
And finally
I'm left wonderin' why
It feels like fall
It feels like fall
It feels like fall
and it's spring
You took me apart
until I couldn't see
my heart got broken
by a mystery
Then came the moment
when I didn't care
All I could do
was look behind and stare
'cause it feels like fall
It feels like fall
It feels like fall
and it's spring
It feels like fall
It feels like fall
It feels like fall
and it's spring

Shear often worked with some of the day's top sidemen. For example, guitarist Elliot Easton on the cd "Healing Bones," which features Rod Argent on keyboards and co-producer duties.

Shear had a well-publicized relationship with Aimee Mann (Til Tuesday's lead singer/songwriter at the time). Shear eventually married singer/songwriter Pal Shazar. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
