Finally Understand Lyrics

Creeping up on the hours
That will interfere with my day tomorrow
I don't think I'll ever leave my bed
It's not as if the list compiled
Will be touched upon no work, no trial
I'm starting to feel all the days pass
When the men return
In a binge of self medication
Ghost of me drenches you with love
And that twist in my chemistry
Unwinds and comes undone
And return to that useless soul
That useless soul of silence
I finally understand

Why, why you left seemed so obvious
I finally understand
Why, why you left seemed so obvious
When I kiss you goodnight
It doesn't matter just how quiet
I'll read it all in the glaze of your eyes
You're not happy, haven't been
For weeks, months on end
And still you spend every waking moment with me
All the years that were pleasurable
Are now holding you prisoner
And everyday you wait for them to return
And words start scrambling
A place where man and oxygen
As I fail to say what you
What you, what you need to hear
Well, you deserve, you deserve someone better
I finally understand
Why, why you left seemed so obvious
I finally understand
Why, why you left seemed so obvious
Why you left seemed so
Guess it's hard to see, I guess it's hard to believe
That there was once so much room to breathe
I've been leaning on you for over three years
You're down on one leg slipping in a river of tears
I finally understand
Why, why you left seemed so obvious
Finally understand
Why, why you left seemed so
I finally understand
How could I have been so blind
I finally understand
How could I have been so blind
Yes, you deserve, you deserve someone better

(2003-2009) The Honorary Title was a folk-rock band from Brooklyn, New York composed of Jarrod Gorbel, Aaron Kamstra, Jon Wiley, and Adam Boyd. Gorbel has become known for his dark sense of humor, which often works its way into the band's songs. Their first release was a self-titled EP. But they received much attention and did major touring after they released a full length album on Doghouse Records in 2004 entitled Anything Else But the Truth, recorded in Nashville and New York with producer Roger Moutenot who has also worked with Yo La Tengo and Guster.
