First and Last Thing You Do (Holland Tunnel) Lyrics

First thing you do
drive right through that Holy Tunnel
Pay your toll to the soul on the other side
Pick up your ticket
for the heavenly Highway
And ride, ride, ride, baby ride
You passed your last chance
for sweet repentance
Get your halo, harp and wings
Cloud number nine
Check your gas and oil
quick, before you spoil
And ride, ride, ride, baby ride
Last thing you'll do
is hear a jingle in your pocket
when they sock it to you

further down the line
And all that funny money
won't bring you milk and honey
So ride, ride, ride, Abraham, ride
And red ballin' all the way
Yes, the lollipop you're suckin', mmm
it's also good for truckin'
A little good luck
and you'll get stuck in L.A.
Drive on
First thing you do is
drive right through that Holland Tunnel
Pay your toll to the soul
on the other side
Pick up your ticket
for the New Jersey turnpike
And drive, drive, drive baby drive
This is your last chance
for the Howard Johnson's
Get your steamed clams
station number nine
You'd better check your gas and oil
forget to be loyal
And drive, drive, drive baby drive
Uh, uh, down the highway
Red ballin' all the way
You know the lollipop you're suckin'
yes, it's also good for truckin'
A little good luck
and you'll get stuck in L.A.
Firrrst thing you do is drive
right through the Holland Tunnel
Pay your toll to the soul on the other side
Pick up your ticket for the New Jersey turnpike
Drive, drive, drive
Ok...
Spend all our money
in Las Vegas, Nevada
and red ballin' down to old L.A.
