Fools Gold Ring Lyrics

I gave you fools gold days on the weekend, babe,
The rest o' the week I'm lost.
I watched my heart collapse in another's grasp,
I haven't counted the cost. It's just a fools coin toss,
Fools coin toss.
It's just a fools coin toss,
Fools coin toss.I give you tumble-weed nights,
Babe, I know it ain't right to pass through your sheets as I please,
It's just a life of excuse when you don't have to choose the direction or
Speed of the breeze.
Even fools have needs,
Fools have needs.
Even fools have needs,
Fools have needs.Take the best of what you have found in me,
*Babe, leave the rest with my love likes won't always be*
I gave you half of me then but if you let me back in
I'll give you everything,
But I should warn you in advance there's a pretty good chance,

You'll take all of me, it'll sting.
It's just a fools gold ring,
Fools gold ring.
It's just a fools gold ring,
Fools gold ring.

The band started off in bars and cafes around Portland, Oregon with singer-songwriter Al James performing songs as Dolorean. It picked up speed after he teamed up with Jay Clarke and the two began to perform as a duo. Al on the guitar and Jay on a student piano. The resulting work was considered album worthy. So, with the help of The Standard's Robbie Duncan on drums Dolorean cut its first album on CDR in 2000.
