Foreigner's God Lyrics

She moves with shameless wonder
The perfect creature rarely seen
Since some lie I brought the thunder
When the land was godless and freeHer eyes look sharp and steady
Into the empty parts of me
Still my heart is heavy
With the hate of some other man's beliefsAlways a well dressed for
Who wouldn't spare the wrong
Never for meScreaming the name
Of a foreigner's God
Screaming the name
Of a foreigner's God
Screaming the name
Of a foreigner's God
The purest expression of griefWondering who I'll copy
Muster in some tender charm
She feels no control of her body
She feels no safety in my armsI've no language left to say it

All I do is crave to her
Breaking if I try to convey it
The broken love I make to herAll that I've been taught
And every word I've got
Is foreign to meScreaming the name
Of a foreigner's God
Screaming the name
Of a foreigner's God
Screaming the name
Of a foreigner's God
The purest expression of griefScreaming the name
Of a foreigner's God
Screaming the name
Of a foreigner's God
Screaming the name
Of a foreigner's God
The purest expression of griefScreaming the name
Of a foreigner's God
Screaming the name
Of a foreigner's God
Screaming the name
Of a foreigner's God
The purest expression of grief

Born on St. Patrick's Day and hailing from County Wicklow, Hozier was raised on the building blocks of popular music: rhythm and blues, soul, jazz and the deep dark stuff stretching from Chicago to the Delta. He joined his first band when he was 15 years old, fronting a soul band with some older heads. He taught himself to play guitar and piano, and went to Trinity College to study music. Whilst there, he bagged a seat on the flight deck of the symphonic B-52 that is the Trinity Orchestra, fronting their missions into the world of classic rock.
