Fortunate Son Lyrics

Some folks are born to wave the flag
The red, white and blue
And when the band plays hail to the chief
They'll point the cannons right at youIt ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no senator's son, no
It ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no fortunate oneSome folks are born silver spoon in hand
Why don't they help themselves?
And when the taxman comes to the door
The house looks like a rummage sale, yeahIt ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no millionaire's son, no
It ain't me, it ain't me
'Cause I ain't no fortunate oneSome folks are born star spangled eyes
They'll lead you off to war
And when you ask how much should we give?
They only answer, more, more, moreIt ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no military son, no
It ain't me, it ain't me

'Cause I ain't no senator's son, noIt ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no millionaire's son, no
It ain't me, it ain't me
'Cause I ain't no fortunate son

Circle Jerks is a hardcore punk band formed circa 1979 in Hermosa Beach, California, United States. It was formed by Black Flag's original singer, Keith Morris, and future Bad Religion guitarist Greg Hetson. They were among the preeminent punk bands of the L.A. scene in the early 1980s.

The band broke up and reformed twice, sometimes with different bass players and/or drummers. They disbanded for the first time after the release of their fifth album, 1987's VI, as Hetson decided to continue touring and releasing a number of albums with Bad Religion.
