Forty Days And Forty Nights Lyrics

Forty days and forty nights
Since my baby left this town
Sun shining all day long
But the rain keep coming down
He's my life, I love him so
Why he left I'll never knowForty days, forty nights
Since I sat right down and cried
Keep raining all the time
But the river is, river running dry
Lord, help me, it just ain't right
I love that man with all my mightForty days, forty nights
Since my baby broke my heart
Keep searching for him all the while
Like a blind man in the dark
Love can make a poor girl rich
Or break her heart, I don't know whichForty days and forty nights
Like a ship out on the sea
Praying, praying for him every night

That he'd come back home to me
Life is love and love is right
I hope he come back home tonightForty days, forty nights
Since my baby left this town
Sun shining all day long
But the river keep coming, rain keep coming down
He's my life and I love him so
Why he left I will never knowWhy he left
Why he left I'll never know
Why he left I will never know
Why he left I'll never know
