Colin Crighton was born in Consett, a town in the north east of England built around the steel industry. As a teenager, he learnt to play guitar by jamming with albums from the likes of John Lee Hooker and Howlin' Wolf. After a few years of playing locally in various bands, music took a sideline to other distractions. In June 2011, his interest in music was reignited by a host of music sites that were now cropping up. Around the same time, he taught himself to play the piano and saxophone. These he melded with his guitar work and his long affirmed love of the blues to create deep, swampy blues with slow funk grooves and touches of folk and jazz thrown in.
