Free Again Lyrics

(Alex Chilton)Well I'm free again, to do what I wanna do
Free again, to sing my song again
Free again, to air my longing,
And to be out on my own againWell I had me a girl, but she couldn't understand
Me and my ways, and my need to be around
Left her today, took my life in my hands
And now I'm free againWell I'm free again, to do what I wanna do
Free again, to sing my song again
Free again, to air my longing,
And to be out on my own againWell I made a mistake, and thought I could turnaround,
Thought I could take, a leash on my neck, around
Now I'm gonna make, my way to another
Til my feet are back on the groundYes I'm free again, to do what I wanna do
Free again, to sing my song again
Free again, to air my longing,
And to be out on my own againFree again, to do what I wanna do
Free again, to sing my song again
Free again, to air my longing,

To be out on my own again

Teenage Fanclub are an indie rock band from Bellshill, Scotland near Glasgow, formed in 1989, and were formerly known as The Boy Hairdressers. They have two generally known humorous nicknames "The Fannies" and "The Bellshill Beach Boys"

Teenage Fanclub are revered for their devotion to chiming, Byrds-esque guitars and harmony vocals. Songwriting duties are shared between the three permanent members of the band, Norman Blake, Raymond McGinley, and Gerard Love.

In 2006, the band held two special concerts in London and Glasgow, playing their 1991 masterpiece Bandwagonesque in its entirety.

There have been a succession of drummers, including:

- Francis MacDonald (a prime-mover in the C86 scene, later of the BMX Bandits), the drummer in the original lineup, and in a later period
- Brendan O’Hare (later of Telstar Ponies, Thrapple , Mogwai and Macrocosmica)

and

- Paul Quinn (later of The Primary 5), who was later replaced by the returning Francis MacDonald.

Keyboardist Finlay MacDonald (no relation to Francis MacDonald) has also been a member.
