Friends & Strangers Lyrics

Why do you still play with me? Treat me like a game
I don't need the pain, I've had enoughYou say we should stay in touch, and you're there for me
But it's plain to see, you're somewhere elseFunny how the situation changes
Love can turn the best of friends into strangersWhy do you still lie to me? Why do you pretend?
Everything must end, just let me goFunny how the situation changes
Love can turn the best of friends into strangersWhy do you still lie to me? Why do you pretend?
Everything must end, just let me goFunny how the situation changes
Your love can turn the best of friends into strangersYeah, funny how the situation changes
Love can turn the best of friends into strangers

Kevin Ayers was a British songwriter, musician from Kent, United Kingdom, who was one of a group of avant garde musicians who came together in Canterbury in the 1960's and developed a whole new approach to the psychedelic, progressive rock genre, known as the canterbury scene. His early work included works with artists like Daevid Allen, David Bedford and Mike Ratledge. Since then Kevin Ayers wrote and recorded some of the wittiest and most poignant songs imaginable and produced more banana related lyrics than anyone ever dreamed possible.
