From The Bottom Of My Heart Lyrics

Fire on the porch on a summer's night
All of my things are there inside
Black smoke rise up, burn on burn higher
I smell leaves and burning tires
Dogs in the meadows barking wild
Blackbird rise up, tell me what have you doneI'm not drunk and I'm not sad
There's nothing inside that I want back
Let me touch your lips, let me see where you're at
Do you wonder how I am tonight
Then don't lose time looking in my eyes
Not every tear means you're gonna cryFrom the bottom of my heart
Comes a cold dark feeling
There is nothing but dust
In the layers I'm peelingFrom the bottom of my heart
Beats a rattling drum
Marching back up the steps
Into the rays of the sunUnder crushing skies of grays
Paralyzed with phantom pains

Before this room became just a place
Where I just sleep through endless days
Spinning webs and carving names
Where thoughts break up, exploding in spaceBut I once crossed a quarter mile
Through black pools of razor wire
And cut through steel
With the edge of a file
While singing rhapsodies in stride
Hellbent and dignified
Now my time has come
Who you fooling and why? From the bottom of my heart
Comes a cold dark feeling
There is eminent death
To the promise I'm keepingFrom the bottom of my heart
Comes an army of one
Marching back up the steps
Into the rays of the sunPale-faced and hollowed eyes
Buried under ruptured skies
Not every smile
Means I'm laughing inside
Two-faced and compromised
I've enraptured you with lies
Everything means nothing
And tonight everything is mineFrom the bottom of my heart
Comes a cold dark feeling
I have buried so much
In the layers I'm peelingFrom the bottom of my heart
A battle will come
Coming up from the depths
Into the rays of the sunFrom the bottom of my heart
Comes a cold dark feeling
Wrapped around tight
With no sign of leavingFrom the bottom of my heart
A ballad is sung
Through a whisper she comes
Into the rays of the sun

Two bands have used the name "The Wallflowers":
1. An American rock band
2. A British indie rock band

1. The Wallflowers are a rock band which formed in 1989 in Los Angeles, California, United States. The band's only constant member has been singer/guitarist Jakob Dylan, the son of folk rock legend Bob Dylan. The Wallflowers have released six albums: "The Wallflowers" (1992), "Bringing Down the Horse" (1996), "Breach" (2000), "Red Letter Days" (2002), "Rebel, Sweetheart" (2005) and "Glad All Over" (2012) The band is best known for their hit singles "One Headlight", "6th Avenue Heartache", "Three Marlenas" and "The Difference", all from their second album "Bringing Down the Horse".

The original members of the Wallflowers included Jakob Dylan (vocals and guitar), Barrie Maguire (bass guitar and vocals), Peter Yanowitz (drums and percussion), Rami Jaffee (keyboards and vocals), and Tobi Miller (guitar). Peter Yanowitz and Barrie Maguire left the band shortly after the album's release and went on to join Natalie Merchant's band. The band currently consists of Jakob Dylan and Rami Jaffee with Greg Richling (bass), Stuart Mathis (guitar) and Jack Irons (drums) . Although not an original member, Richling has been in the band longer than any other member aside from Dylan, joining in 1996. Elthringham joined in 2005.

The band left Interscope Records in 2005. According to the Reboot The Mission Songfacts, "Glad All Over", The Wallflowers’ first album for over seven years will be released by Columbia on October 2, 2012. The record was recorded at Easy Eye Sound studio in Nashville.

2. The Wallflowers is also the name of UK 80's indie pop/jangle band, which released a number of singles.
