Fundamentally Yours Lyrics

Finding time to write a line to someone that I knew
I remember slipping sideways falling in to view
Oh how can it be that words can't make you see
The hat stand that hangs in the hallwayChanging sides like morning brides
To satisfy your friends
You overstate your undercoat
To start a new trendFlying home to work alone on
Building schemes and roads
I remembered holding horses
Catching summer colds
Oh how can it be that words can't make you see
The lampshade that lights up the landing
Changing sides like morning brides
To pacify my friendsYou overpay your underdogs
Perhaps you pretend
Framing maps to fill the gaps
That fall across my room
I Remembered turning tables

Reaching for the moonOh how can it be that words can't make you see
The witness who waits in the wardrobe

Stackridge are a West Country based group who were at the height of their success, such as it was, during the 1970s. Characterised by quirky humour and rhythmic, catchy, singalong tunes, the band gained a cult following which continues to this day. Stackridge Lemon were formed in Bristol, UK from the remains of Griptyght Thynn by Andy Davis & Jim 'Crun' Walter during 1969. After initial experimentation and very lofty aims, the music began to arrive and the Lemon was dropped from the band's name.
