Generals & Majors Lyrics

Generals and Majors ah ah
They're never too far
From battlefields so glorious
Out in a world of their own
They'll never come down
Till once again victorious, whoaGenerals and Majors always
Seem so unhappy 'less they got a warGenerals and Majors ah ah
Like never before are tired of being action lessCalling Generals and Majors
Generals and Majors everywhere
Calling Generals and Majors
Your World War III is drawing nearGenerals and Majors ah ah
They're never too far
Away from men who made the grade
Out in a world of their own
They'll never come down
Until the battle's lost or made, whoaGenerals and Majors always
Seem so unhappy 'less they got a warGenerals and Majors ah ah
Like never before, are tired of being in the shadeCalling Generals and Majors

Generals and Majors everywhere
Calling Generals and Majors, hey
Your World War III is drawing near, World War IIIGenerals and Majors ah ah
They're never too far
From battlefields so glorious
Out in a world of their own
They'll never come down
Till once again victorious, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoaGenerals and Majors
Generals and Majors
Generals and Majors
Generals and Majors

XTC were an influential rock band (starting out as a post-punk outfit but eventually developing into a sound that was a mix of new wave and alternative/college rock) which formed Swindon, England in 1972. For most of their career, the band consisted of Andy Partridge (vocals, guitar), Colin Moulding (vocals, bass) and Dave Gregory (guitar, keyboards). Gregory replaced founding keyboardist Barry Andrews in 1979 and left himself in 1999.
