Georgia on My Mind Lyrics

Georgia, Georgia
The whole day through
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mindI'm say Georgia, Georgia
A song of you
Comes as sweet and clear
As moonlight through the pinesOther arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to youI said Georgia
Oh Georgia, no peace I find
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mindOther arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to youGeorgia, Georgia
No peace, no peace I find
Just this old, sweet song

Keeps Georgia on my mindI said just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind

Ella Jane Fitzgerald (April 25, 1917 in Newport News, VA – June 15, 1996), also known as Lady Ella (the First Lady of Song), was one of the most influential jazz singers of the 20th Century, the winner of thirteen Grammy Awards, the National Medal of Art presented by President Ronald Reagan and the Presidential Medal of Freedom presented by President George H. W. Bush. Gifted with a three-octave vocal range, she was noted for her purity of tone, near faultless phrasing and intonation, and a "horn-like" improvisational ability, particularly in her scat singing.
