Get It Back Lyrics

You're ready? Ahh
Whitney, dark child
If we could get it back
If we could get it back, ahh
Yea, check it out, come onRemember when it all began
We were all in love, ahh
Thinking of friends telling you when
Your time for me was good enough
I testily had to compete
With your crew and their schemes
Remembering, back in the day
I used to mean everything(If we could just get it back)
To the way it used to be
(My only wish would be that)
Nothing would change with you and me
(I remember how it was)
And I know that for a fact
(We were both so deep in love)

If we could just get it backNow tell me why so many nights
You had so much to do, baby
When you said bye, sometimes I tried
I tried to make you choose
Now tell me how you can allow
Your boys to control, darlin'
The time we share, it wasn't fair
But now you need to know(Now if I told you)
That I'm movin' on
(Boy, what would you do?)
Oh, things just ain't the same, na, na, nana
(We were suppose to)
Oh baby, conquer everything, yea, yea, na
(Boy, if I tell you )
You've got to make a change, ohh boy(If we could just get it back)
Oh, baby some other way we used to be
(My only wish would be that)
Nothin' would change for you and me
(I remember how it was)
And I know that for a fact, ahh
(We were both so deep in love)
If we could just get it back(If we could just get it back)
Can we do it, can we do it, can we do it, can we do it now baby?
(My only wish would be that)
Nothin' would change for you and me boy
(I remember how it was)
And I know that for a fact, ahh
(We were both so deep in love)
If we could just get it backRemember how we used to dance?
I like the way we used to dance
Girl let me see you dance
Just dance with me, dance with me, ahh
Remember how we used to dance?
(Good boy)
I like the way we used to dance
Girl let me see you dance
Just dance with me, dance with me
(If we could just get it back)
(My only wish would be that)
Com'n now
Nothing would change for you and me boy
(I remember how it was)
And I know that for a fact ahh
(We were both so deep in love)
If we could just get it back(If we could just get it back)
Ohh, to the way we used to be baby
(My only wish would be that)
Nothin' would change for you and me
(I remember how it was)
Oh, to the way we used to be baby
(We were both so deep in love)
I'm in love, I'm in love
(If we could just get it back)
Ohh yea
(If we could just get it back)
Just get it back to the way it used to be
(My only wish would be that)
If we could just get it back
(I remember how it was)
Ohh, baby, ohh baby
(We were both so deep in love)
Show me, show me, show me, show meIf we could just get it back
If we could just get it back
If we could just get it back

Whitney Houston (born on August 9, 1963 in Newark, New Jersey, death announced February 11, 2012 in Los Angeles, California) was a Grammy and Emmy Award winning American R&B/pop singer, actress, former fashion model, record and movie producer. Whitney Houston is one of pop music's best-selling music artists of all-time, with more than 200 million combined albums, singles, and videos sold worldwide. She was known for her soulful dramatic mezzo-soprano voice, vocal power, range and melismatic skill. She was labeled the "Queen of Songs" by Arsenio Hall, who described her as "the first lady of song". She was also known to millions as "The Voice", a nickname given to her by Oprah Winfrey. Also known as the "Queen of Pop/Soul", or soulful-pop music.

Whitney's debut album was released in 1985 to critical and commercial international success, and she went on to release seven consecutive number-one hits on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. She was one of a handful of African-American artists who received heavy-rotation on MTV during the network's early years in the 1980s.

Houston continued her success into the 1990s with the release of several films and their corresponding soundtrack albums, the most popular of which was The Bodyguard (1992), which produced the worldwide number-one hit single I Will Always Love You. According to the I Will Always Love You Songfacts, it stayed at US #1 for 14 weeks, which was a record at the time and for a while was second to "We Are The World" as the biggest-selling single ever. Houston's albums in the 2000s have been less successful.

Her personal life became the subject of controversy because of allegations of drug abuse, especially after repeated cancellations of public appearances and erratic behaviour.

In mid 2009, Houston released her seventh and final studio album, "I Look To You." The album debut at #1 on the Billboard 200. It became another Platinum seller. It was state in the UK Newspaper "The Mirror" that Houston is thinking about recording her eighth studio album.

Her death was announced by her publicist on February 11, 2012.
