There's a powerful lineage of impressive duos throughout music history that spans everybody from Simon & Garfunkel to Method Man & Redman. When two distinct personalities join together for a singular musical mission, something special happens. Now, it's happening again with Northern California twosome Kalin and Myles (KAM).

Together, they stir up pop, hip-hop, and R&B into an irresistible and inimitable hybrid affectionately and appropriately dubbed "Hip Pop". Meet the 21st century's premier pair.

Even though they reflect a time-honored tradition, the boys represent the future from the inception of their music to their style. First meeting at a local movie theater in 2011, they kept in touch on Facebook and began formally making music together, creating their own beats, singing, and rapping. Soon afterwards, they dropped "More Than Friends" online, and the response was instantly overwhelming. They performed shows with the likes of Austin Mahone and Megan & Liz and slowly developed a fervent fan base. Headline gigs then followed and started selling out everywhere across the country.

On their debut EP for Republic Records, Chase Dreams, Kalin and Myles steer pop music down their own lane. Rather than solely relying on anyone else's sounds or ear, the duo opted to write and produce the bulk of the seven-song set in Myles's bedroom, co-writing only three cuts. As a result, they spark a fresh and fiery flavor.

Showcasing their identity, the collection's first single "Love Robbery" glides along on magnetic production fortified by a smooth R&B spirit and a soaring refrain. Nodding to the nineties while brandishing an incendiary energy, it quickly racked up over 1,000,000 views on YouTube and laid the groundwork for Chase Dreams summer 2014 release.

"We actually looked up some Usher to get in that headspace," says Kalin. "We wanted to get into that time period for a couple of hours. It's the purest R&B we've done up to this point."

"I had a really heavy heart about a relationship I was in," admits Myles. "This girl had insecurities about past relationships. We got together, and it didn't work because she couldn't commit all the way. I was giving one-hundred percent though. It's something I think a lot of people can relate to."

Speaking of relatable, "No Ordinary Girl" slips from sun-soaked pop into a shimmering reggae bounce carried by live guitar and percussion. Produced by and co-written with Good Charlotte's Benji Madden, the track showcases another side of the group.

"We got a random email from Benji that he wanted to collaborate," smiles Myles. "We thought that was crazy. It was our first time in a big L.A. studio, and we were excited from the jump. It's a feel-good summertime song. It's about how the most beautiful girls are the ones in the back. They're natural and ordinary."

Then, there's "Feel Like Partyin'," which side steps from piano and bass into an immediate and infectious refrain. "That's happened before," Kalin chuckles. "You're about to leave a party, and then this girl just walks in. You've got to stay and try to get her number. It's a true story!"

Maintaining their connection to the Bay Area, Kalin and Myles teamed up with IAmSu! and P-Lo of HBK Gang for their NorCal anthem "Do My Step". It isn't just a song though, the boys cooked up a dance too, ensuring everybody's moving along.

"We were born and raised in the Bay," explains Myles. "We never lose sight of that, and it's always going to be home for us. HBK Gang is a big inspiration to us. They understand the grind. I freaked out like a fan girl when IAmSu! came in the studio! Their side of the city and ours collide here."

Now, the boys have reached their biggest platform to date. In April 2014, they inked a deal with Republic Records for the release of Chase Dreams. Three years of nonstop hard work continues to pay off. Over the course of two independent EPs, the band sold nearly 300,000 digital singles to date. Numbers continue to increase dramatically with a 290 percent jump during spring time. On Twitter, they have generated over 20 trending topics and soared from 50K Vine followers to 430K. They also sold out every date of their Chase Dreams tour, climaxing with a four-show "Bay Area Takeover".

Ultimately though, Kalin and Myles want everybody to follow their own Dreams.

"We want everybody to go out there and chase their dreams for real," concludes Kalin. "Your dream is out there—just work for it. We wouldn't be anywhere without our fans. We hope we can inspire. We're here because of them."

"I hope everybody has a good time," Myles leaves off. "It's about embracing who you are and enjoying life. That's what we're doing."
