Ghetto Soundwave Lyrics

There's another cry of murder
Policeman shoot down baby brother
Shot him, shot him down in the street
But did they know the mother's griefWere they sure they got the right one
Did they know he was her only son
A father tries to feed his family
They come here to find their opportunityLiving, living, living in the streets
With their dreams and with their humility
Can't we all see the pain and hurt
They love this land maybe more than usThere's a ghetto sound wave
Gets to me everyday
There's a ghetto sound wave
Gets to me everydayAnother bourgeois politician
Hears out pleas but does not listen
Never, never, never sees the need
But caters only to his greedCan't he see there's no use in lying
And don't he know all our hope is dying

Fishbone is a long-lived, influential band, self-described as jazzy ska-gospel punk rock-reggae. The band was formed in 1979 in the ghettos of South Central Los Angeles, California, USA by Angelo Moore, also known as "Dr. Madd Vibe" (vocals, saxophones ranging from soprano to bass, and theremin); Kendall Jones (guitar); John Norwood Fisher (bass); Philip "Fish" Fisher (drums); "Dirty" Walter A. Kibby II (trumpet); and Chris Dowd (keyboards, trombone). The group came from the same Los Angeles scene that spawned the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Jane's Addiction.
