Girl Of My Dreams Lyrics

Im not hatin on him but Im thinkin pon him
Cause I always see you cry and you never tell nobody why
I see you with your diamond ring
And he can buy you any brand name you chose
Id do the same thing if I was in his shoesBut what about the days?
(He comes back)
Like when he comes in the house
(You catch slack)
Taking it out on you
(Makes me mad)
Just when I start to come through
(But then I fall back)Some day I will steal your love, soon enoughIt tears me up inside to see your crying eyes
Pouring like a waterfall cause he dont treat you right
You gotta close shop on him, to the next stop, warning
Thats not how you treat the woman of my dreamsMaybe Im being nosy
Everything he does I know it
The long nights to the fights, kisses to the hugs
Im sitting here wishing it was us, ooh!How can I take the game

Flip it upside-down instead of him?
Baby girl I should be your man
You should be sleeping in my bedYoure supposed to be riding
In the passenger seat of my car
Let me make a move, its time I starredSome day I will steal your love, soon enough
He dont deserve you, no no noIt tears me up inside to see your crying eyes
Pouring like a waterfall cause he dont treat you right
You gotta close shop on him, to the next stop, warning
Thats not how you treat the woman of my dreamsIts painful to sit around
Watching the girl of my dreams
(Help [incomprehensible])
(Who can treat you no better)Its painful cause Im alone
And shes the reason for being
Girl, Ive fallen
Darling, you know Im fallingWhen I made my way to the house
The words rolled out my mouth
Like, Excuse me miss, whats your name?
Its kinda hard for me to explain
Ive been watching but Im not insane
All I know is yeahIt tears me up inside to see your crying eyes
Pouring like a waterfall cause he dont treat you right
You gotta close shop on him, to the next stop, warning
Thats not how you treat the woman of my dreamsIt tears me up inside to see your crying eyes
Pouring like a waterfall cause he dont treat you right
You gotta close shop on him, to the next stop, warning
Thats not how you treat the woman of my dreams

Keith Sweat (born Keith Crier on July 22, 1961 in Harlem, New York), is a popular R&B/soul singer, songwriter, record producer and a major contributor to the New jack swing era. Before becoming a recording artist, Sweat worked for the commodities market in the New York Mercantile Exchange. He sang at nightclubs throughout New York City until he was discovered and offered a recording contract with Elektra Records in 1987.

Make It Last Forever era: 1985-1993

Sweat started his musical career as a member of a well known Harlem band called "Jamilah" in 1975. With the help of Jamilah, Sweat was able to hone his craft as a lead singer by performing regionally throughout the Tri-State area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The group was started by Larry Peebles, a talented bass player from 116th Street and Lenox Avenue, and included several members who came in and out of the group; among those included was Gregory Ross, a well known Harlem keyboard player who currently lives and works in the Los Angeles area.

On November 25, 1987, Sweat released his debut album Make It Last Forever, which sold three million copies. The biggest hit from this album was "I Want Her" (#1 R&B/#5 Pop), and the title track from the album was hit #2 on the R&B charts.

Sweat continued to chart fairly well with his sophomore album I'll Give All My Love To You, which hit #6 on the Billboard 200 chart, and Keep It Comin debuted in the Top 20 of the album chart.
