Give It Up Lyrics

From the place that I stand
To the land that is openly free
Watching rivers run black
By the trees that are vacant to greedGotta give it up
Gotta get a second chance
Gotta give it up
Gotta get a second chance
And the jokes just startedGotta give it up,
Give it up,
Give it up
Gotta give it upOr tell me why I'm so wrong
Where does love come from
If you've sold your reasoning outHow can I learn
If I don't understand what I see
If I'm giving this mess
Take a walk through a nightmare so realGotta give it up
Gotta get a second chance
Gotta give it up

Gotta get a second chance
And the jokes just startedGotta give it up,
Give it up,
Give it up
Gotta give it upOr tell me why I'm so wrong
Where does luck come from
When you've never been withoutGive it up,
Give it up,
Give it up
Gotta give it up
Give it up,
Give it up
Gotta give it upTell me if I'm so wrong
Where does love come from
If you've sold your reasoning out
Or tell me if I'm so wrong
Where does luck come from
When you've never been withoutCan do itYou can do itYou can do itGotta give up

Talk Talk are commonly known for their early synthpop/new wave singles, but are also considered forerunners in the post-rock genre for their later experimental albums. Although they were identified with bands such as Duran Duran during the New Wave movement, Talk Talk had a progressive depth their contemporaries lacked. After keyboardist Simon Brenner was replaced with producer and unofficial member Tim Friese-Greene, each successive Talk Talk release became more sophisticated and original.
