Give You Away Lyrics

Isn't news to me
We've been like this for a while
Love's a mystery
The wilderness was all we found
And we're the wildest thingsWe tumble up
We tumble nowWorld and History
The best and show head of the class
And all the kids agreed
That we were born and meant to last
But fairy tales aren't real
And our ideals were always bound to clashYou're missing a part of me
I'm missing a part of you
I don't want to lose
Don't want to choose
But I'll give you
Give you
Give you awayAnd I'll give you
I'll give you

I'll give you awayAnd if I can't have you for one single day
Today
I'll give you awayThere has been a change
The light is out
The bed unmade
Do you remember me?
An empty room
A road unpaved
You whisper, "Sweet release"
(Sweet release)
And I can tell that we arrange
Oh, communication's key
But I'm afraid a door's been locked
And who is there to blame?
We took a chance
We gave it a shot
And though I disagree
I know that what we had now ain't a lotYou're missing a part of me
And I'm missing a part of you
And I don't want to lose
I don't want to chooseBut I'll give you
Give you
Give you awayAnd I'll give you
I'll give you
Give you awayAnd if I can't have you for one single day
TodayBut I'll give you
Give you
Give you away
And I'll give you
I'll give you
I'll give you awayAnd if I can't have you for one single day
Today
Give you away

Daniel Wilson grew up in Detroit, Michigan. His family regularly attended church and even though Wilson didn't care for the sermons too much he loved the music. Much like the music on those Sunday mornings, his parents would pack the car full of Gospel cassette tapes. As a child spoken for mainly by religious music, he wouldn't dive into anything wildly different for years. He became a choirboy and found support from his choir director who encouraged him to explore his classical voice.
