Given In Death Lyrics

Nothing but pain, nothing but anguish
Depriving me of mercy, refusing all compassion
These bare walls around me
My prison, my dungeonDeliver me to ransom,
No god can justify this cruelty
There's nothing left for me
There's nothing left but agonyAt last break down this dogma
Just let me go, just let me be
Just let it be my last breath
As all peace has left this worldThere is serenity given in death
Silence is falling down
So long ago I lost my anchor
As all my sorrows drownThe turmoil of this world is not my struggle anymore
The end is putting down its hand for me,
I see, I feelAs all my sorrows drown
Just let me go, just let me be
Just let it be my last breath
Days fade away, songs die awayMy peace of mind, given in death

As all peace has left this world
So long ago I lost my anchor
I'm longing for redemptionThe turmoil of this world is not my struggle anymore
The end is putting down its hand for me,
I see, I feelThese bare walls around me
My prison, my dungeon
There's nothing left for me
There's nothing left but agonyThe turmoil of this world is not my struggle anymore
Enclosed by the mists of oblivion,
Songs die awayThe turmoil of this world is not my struggle anymore
The end is putting down its hand for me,
I see, I feel

Heaven Shall Burn was formed in autumn 1996, under the name 'Consense'. With the recording of their second demo in early 1997 the band changed their name to 'Heaven Shall Burn'. The name is taken from a Marduk album titled "Heaven Shall Burn... When We Are Gathered". In an interview with the band at decoymusic.com, the band said: "It’s not that we’re huge Marduk fans, but we liked the name. It sounds a bit provoking and so people ask us again and again for the meaning behind our name. It has been like that since the very beginning.
