God Forbid Lyrics

God forbid
That I should lose, lose my mind
God forbid
God forbid
That I should lose, lose my mind
God forbid
We have cause to be uneasy
The evolutionary process has begun in a world that hates you
These secrets revealed belong to us
And when worst comes to worst
My peoples come first, my peoples come first
God forbid
That I should lose, lose my mind
God forbid
Insanity is just a thought away
God forbid
That I should lose, lose my mind

God forbid
Balancing the good that’s left in me
Too many things going wrong around us
Too much to be done and so little time
We’re so used to bowing down that we forget how to stand up
And we settle, settle for last in line but not this time
God forbid
That I should lose, lose my mind
God forbid
Insanity is just a thought away
Balancing the good that’s left in me
Forbid

Dudley Taft grew up in a country called the "Midwest", where he learned the values of friendship, roots blues, rock 'n' roll and a good ear of corn. Local guitar hero Rob Swaynie in Indianapolis taught Dudley the value of music theory interspersed with B.B King, Led Zeppelin and ZZ Top riffs. By the time Dudley headed for his tour of duty at the Taft School in Conneticut, named after his great-grand uncle President William Taft, music was already in his blood. Most Taft's go on to be politicians, lawyers and businessmen but Dudley knew what he wanted to do.
