Transcriber: [email protected] have had my fun
If I don't get well no more
Yes, I had my fun
If I don't get well, no more
Get well, no more
Yes, my health is failing me
And I'm going down slowPlease write my mother
Tell her the shape I'm in
Ple-eee-ase write my mother
Lord, Lord, Lord
Tell her the shape I'm in
Tell her to pray for me

Forgive me of all my sinOn the next train south
Look for my clothes, home
On the next train south
Look for my clothes, home
(Oh yeah!)
If you don't see my body
All you can do is moan(guitar & instrumental)'Lord have mercy'Mother, please don't worry
This is all in my prayers
Yes, mother please don't worry
This is all in my prayer
You do say you got a son
Out in the world, somewhere.~

William Thomas Dupree (birth date disputed; died January 21, 1992, in Hanover, Germany), best known as Champion Jack Dupree, was an American blues pianist. He was the embodiment of the New Orleans blues and boogie woogie pianist. On his best known album, Blues from the Gutter, for Atlantic in 1959, he was accompanied on guitar by Larry Dale, whose playing on that record inspired Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones.
