Gone Today Lyrics

There was doubt as cold as winter
There was doubt as cold as winter
But it's gone todayThere was darkness at my doorstep
There was darkness at my doorstep
But it's gone, gone, gone todayThis very morning, I awoke to
Someone calling my name
'T was a gallet band of angels
And I'm gone, gone, gone todayWake up, wake up my children
Wake up, I'm on my way
I'll be seated at his table
And I'm gone, gone, gone todayLovin' friend, do not mourn me
Celebrate me on my way
All the tears you shed in sadness
Bid them gone, gone, gone todayWake up, wake up my children
Wake up, wake up, send me on my way
For today I've heard my calling
And I'm gone, gone, gone today
And I'm gone, gone, gone today

Ollabelle was formed as a side project by a group of six New York-based singer/songwriters to play informally at the Sunday night gospel show of a local club. Lead singer Amy Helm came from Woodstock, NY, where she had performed in blues bands; bassist Byron Isaacs was living in Brooklyn; drummer Tony Leone came out of jazz; singer/guitarist Fiona McBain had moved to New York from
Sydney, Australia; keyboard player Glenn Patscha had played extensively in New Orleans; and guitarist Jimi Zhivago was a producer and multi-instrumentalist.
