Gone with the Wind (feat. The Paul Smith Quartet) Lyrics

Gone with the wind
Just like a leaf that has flown away
Gone with the wind
My romance has blown away
Yesterday's kisses are still on my lips
I've had a lifetime of heaven at my fingertipsBut now all-all is gone
Gone is the rapture that fills my heart
Gone with the wind
My romance has flown apartJust like a flame
Love burned brightly, then became
An empty smoke ring that has gone
Gone with the windGone, gone, gone with the wind
Just like a leaf that has flown away
Gone with the wind
My romance has flown away
Yesterday's kisses are still, still on my lips
I've had a lifetime of heaven at my fingertipsBut now all-all is gone
Gone is the rapture that fills my heart

Gone with the wind
My romance has flown apartJust like a flame
Love burned brightly, then became
An empty smoke ring that has
Gone with the windGone with the wind

Ella Jane Fitzgerald (April 25, 1917 in Newport News, VA – June 15, 1996), also known as Lady Ella (the First Lady of Song), was one of the most influential jazz singers of the 20th Century, the winner of thirteen Grammy Awards, the National Medal of Art presented by President Ronald Reagan and the Presidential Medal of Freedom presented by President George H. W. Bush. Gifted with a three-octave vocal range, she was noted for her purity of tone, near faultless phrasing and intonation, and a "horn-like" improvisational ability, particularly in her scat singing.
