Good Good Day Lyrics

See the little cloud up in the sky
It's a good good day today
See the little cloud pass on by
It's a good good day todayMary comes now, let Mary be
Can you see her down on the street?
Mary's laughing 'cause Mary sees
That she's a wearin' that dress for meThere can be times, yeah
When no things come together, yeah
Under a clear sky and you can believe, yeah
You hold your breath for this moment, yeahBut do not breathe for this day alone
Is a good day, yes I know
It's a good day, yeah I know
TodayHear her feet skipping up the stairs
It's a good good day today
She is the answer to all of my prayers
It's a good good day todayMary comes now, she don't knock
'Cause she's runnin' on her own little clock
Mary's laughing 'cause Mary knows

That this day was meant for usAnd Mary full knows, yeah
And any foresees that the future, yeah
Is a down on its kneesAnd are all crying and a reelin'
And tears roll down their cheeks
'Cause I can believe in the one
That is standing in front of meOn this day, don't you know
Is a good day, yes I know
It's a good day, I told you so
TodaySee her breasts how they rise and fall
It's a good good day today
And she knows I've used that line before
It's a good good day todayMary's laughing, she don't mind
'Cause she knows she's one of a kind
Mary's laughing, just to me
Standing next to meAnd April knows, yeah
That the wind always blows
Something to someone, yeah
Once in a whileSo let it rain, let it fall
Let the wind, oh, through your door
'Cause right now for this moment
For ever me standing next to herOn this day, which I know
Is a good day, yeah I know
Oh, it's a good day, I told you so
Today

Australia (1984 – present)
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds was originally formed in 1984 by two former members of the Australian band The Birthday Party: Nick Cave (vocals, songwriter, keyboards, harmonica) and multi-instrumentalist Mick Harvey. They were joined by Einstürzende Neubauten member Blixa Bargeld (guitar), Hugo Race (guitar), and former Magazine member Barry Adamson (bass, piano). Cave’s former girlfriend Anita Lane was also a creative influence and occasional lyricist. This line-up recorded their debut album, From Her To Eternity, released in 1984. During their initial Australian tour, Birthday Party bass guitarist Tracy Pew also performed with the band.

The name of the new project indicated the shift in Cave’s role from band member, as in The Birthday Party, to band leader, and coincided with his shift in songwriting style from expressionism to detailed lyrical narrative. The group has been through many personnel changes, with Cave and Harvey remaining the constants.

Cave separated from Lane in the mid-1980s and began a relationship with Elisabeth Recker. While in Berlin, he released four albums with the Bad Seeds: The Firstborn Is Dead; Kicking Against the Pricks; Your Funeral… My Trial; and Tender Prey. Kicking Against the Pricks was the first album to feature the drumming of Swiss Thomas Wydler, who is the longest serving member in the band beside Cave and Mick Harvey.

In 1987, the Bad Seeds made an appearance in the Wim Wenders film, Wings of Desire. In 1990, the band collectively eliminated hard drugs from its diet, relocated to Brazil, and released The Good Son. Their next record, 1992’s Henry’s Dream, was the first to feature current members Martyn P. Casey and Conway Savage. Following it came 1994’s Let Love In.
