Good Man Is Gone Lyrics

"If he had left here in a natural waaaay, (in a natural waaaay...) (then what? haha!)
I would feel better when I hear me - saaaay: (what?!) - "A good maan is gooone! "" (uhh, uhh!)
A half a G and E&J out in the big park, (yeah!)
When it got dark we occasionally let the.5th bark. (BOOM!)
You was a hustler, - I was a rhyme writer. (whattup?)
You would serve customers, I would ignite cyphers! (HA!)
We rode around, try and get ass in a white Mazda, (come here!)
Till one day you just disappeared like my father! (hey)
'Member you talkin 'bout that out-of-town dough?
You was drunk! - Most of the time I ain't think you'd be out, yo!
You was drunk! - Most of the time I ain't think you'd be out, yo! (WHOOO!)
Sure did, took your wife and your kid out to P-A, {gooone!}
Right around my B-day. (uh-huh!) - Guess you had it mapped out. (okay!)
Always knew the crack route, (uhh!) {gooone!}
Had them kids in that small town (uhh!) shook rollin' dice (uhh!) with your Gat out! (hehe!)
I visited time to time, I had to check my dude; {gooone!}
You had the hoes on a string, they always blessed the crew. (HAA!)
A Shotgun shell turned my man flesh to stew. (OOHH!) - Damn, Jizz, we miss you! (damn!)

{A good maan is...} A good man is gone! {gooone, gooone, goooone!} (gone! hah!)
{A good maan is...} A good man is gone! {gooone, gooone, goooone!} (hah!)
{A good maan is...} A good man is GONE! (GONE!) {gooone, gooone, goooone!} (hah!)
{A good maan is...} A good man is gone... {goooone!} Gone... gone... {A gooood man is...} gone!
Uhh! - I met you at Sue's Rendezvous on a Tuesday, (pardon!)
Flex spinnin', I see it like it was today! (word!)
"Block Royal" emblem on your Polo-T, (uhh!)
Handsome nigga; no homo, B. (word!) - You had that glow though see. (c'mon!)
I 'member you asked why I'm so low-key (uh-huh!)
With such a fire mixtape I need a promo V! (hehe!)
You introduced me to the family, took it out to Jers', (yeah!)
Studio in the basement when I pronounce the words. (what?)
Studio in the basement when I pronounce the words! (whooo!)
I 'member you goin' crazy: "Told you he get his flame on! " (hahaaa!) {gooone!}
Right after that's when you introduced me to Akon! (whattup?)
We 'posed to get a track that was nuts like acorns, {gooone!}
Years since you gone I'm STILL gettin' my wait ON! (what?)
Anyway, - your boy gettin his fame on, {gooone!}
Aftermath gang, got my EMINEM and my Dre on. (hey!)
Still rep' "B.R.", - Know I carry the name on! - Damn, Screw, we miss you!
{A good maan is gooone, gooone, goooone!} A good man is gone! (hah!)
{A good maan is gooone, gooone, goooone!} A good man is gone! (hah!)
{A good maan is gooone, gooone, goooone!} A good man is gone! (hah!)
{A good maan is goooone!} Gone... gone... gone... Uhh! {A gooood man is...}
This is for anyone who's ever took a loss (c'mon!)
In bed, lights out, you just turn and you toss! (NOOO!)
It wasn't their turn, it wasn't their turn! (uhh!)
Listen, we all got somethin' to leeaarn! (that's that!)
Two things is certain, you live then you die; (ch'eah!)
And I'm a do a lot of livin 'fore I get to the sky. (YEAH!)
'Fore I sit with that guy and repent for my sins, (uhh!)
On my knees hands together and I pray to get in! (c'mon!)
On my knees hands together and I pray to get in! (whooo!)
But until then, (what?) - man, I'm playin' to win; {gooone!}
I came in this game po', I'm a say: "YAY! " at the end! (YUP!)
You ain't super duper nice don't be displayin' your pen, (Yaowa!) {gooone!}
I'll expose it! None of your friends'll claim you again! (who?!)
Joell Ortiz is the name I defend {gooone!}
In the streets, on beats, on every stage I attend;
I'm official! ('FICIAL!) - God forbid I'll die by that pistol, say: "YAOWA! " - We miss you! (word!)
{A good maan is...} A good man is gone! {gooone, gooone, goooone!} (gone... hah!)

{A good maan is goooone!} A good man is gone... gone... gone... gone! {A gooood man is...}
A good man, y'all...
A good man is gone!
I know you lost somebody!
This is for you... and you!
Yeah!
Keep 'em alive, y'all!
Keep 'em alive, y'all! Keep 'em alive, y'all! [echoes] [6 seconds instrumental]
Keep 'em alive, y'all!
Keep 'em alive, y'all! Keep 'em alive, y'all! [echoes] [6 seconds instrumental]
A good man is GONE! [beat stops]

Joell Ortiz is a Puerto Rican American rapper from Brooklyn, New York formerly signed to Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment record label. He was featured in the Unsigned Hype column of the March 2004 issue of The Source Magazine and was also selected as Chairman's Choice in XXL Magazine. During the same time Joell also went on to win the 2004 EA Sports Battle which earned his song Mean Business a spot on the NBA Live 2005 soundtrack. The same year he was offered a contract to Jermaine Dupri's So So Def label. The deal quickly went sour which caused Joell to start a beef with Jermaine. Joell has since collaborated with KRS-One and Kool G. Rap as well as working on his first album on Aftermath.

Joell will release his street album called "The Brick (Bodega Chronicles)" April 24 on Koch Records. The album was recorded while Joell was trying to get signed and going through some tough times personally. Even though he is signed to Aftermath Entertainment, Dr.Dre allowed him to release the street album on Koch Records. The Brick will feature productions from DJ Premier, Showbiz, The Alchemist, Domingo, Ho Chi from Killahertz Productions, Lil' Fame of M.O.P., Novel, and Moss, among others. Guest spots will include Big Daddy Kane, Styles P, Big Noyd, M.O.P, Akon, Immortal Technique, Grafh, Ras Kass, Stimuli, and Novel.
