Good Thing Gone Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Never wanted to let you down
Never wanted us to fight
Oh, sweet love o' mine
I guess this goodbye to you and I[Verse 2]
Time is a stubborn affair
The distance was too much to bear
Oh, with a heavy heart
I must leave the one I love[Chorus]
We could've tried a bit harder, mm
I could've practiced more patience, mm
Look at this good love we've wasted
Another good thing gone
[Verse 3]
Neither one of us is wrong
Neither one of us is right
I never fully have faith, you see
'Cause I always knew you'd fall out of love with me[Chorus]

We could've tried a bit harder, mm
I could've practiced more patience, mm
Look at this good love we've wasted
Another good thing gone[Bridge]
So why should I change?
If love always ends this way
[Chorus]
You couldn't put down that ashtray
I couldn't get that shit passed me
We could've tried a bit harder, mm
But I just ain't got that much patience, mm
Look at this good love we've wasted
Another good thing gone
