Gotta Eat Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
I swear I see this nigga I'ma kill him
I'm goin' to kill him so make a nigga suffer
Ya know what I'm sayin'My man said life ain't easy
When niggas gotta eat that's when shit gets greasy
Streets be all like feed me, feed me
When niggas gotta eat that's when shit gets greasyMy man said life ain't easy
When niggas gotta eat that's when shit gets greasy
Streets be all like feed me, feed me
When niggas gotta eat that's when shit gets greasyMy man said life ain't easy
When niggas gotta eat that's when shit gets greasyHey he had a whole lotta cheese

Plus he was a mack had a whole lotta seeds
Made a lot of niggas fat, gave a whole lotta G's
Grams man, he had a whole lotta these
And he would let you hold like a whole lotta Ki's
Even if you lose some he would give you new onesTwice the bread it's like he had two buns
And he had a whole lotta seeds
Even his kids had meals for reals
Some rich small fries wrapped in paper
Since they was lil', ketchup niggaMy man said life ain't easy
When niggas gotta eat that's when shit gets greasy
Streets be all like feed me, feed me
When niggas gotta eat that's when shit gets greasyMy man said life ain't easy
When niggas gotta eat that's when shit gets greasyHe was a heart breaker and a large shaker
If it was 'bout cakin' he was a part taker
International he would take trips bon voyage
That's so hard he was fishin' for the chipsSo greedy he never gave to the needy
That's what some say
The way he shunned all the bums
Hangin' in the subwaysHe called them fruits and laughed at 'em
Delivery man on the pick-up drive through and throw a bag at 'em
And it was hard to understand him sometimes
Makin' a killin' the way he had 'em standin' in lineMy man said life ain't easy
When niggas gotta eat that's when shit gets greasy
Streets be all like feed me, feed me
When niggas gotta eat that's when shit gets greasyMy man said life ain't easy
When niggas gotta eat that's when shit gets greasyLovers call him king, haters call him clown
He would say bite me that's the way it's goin' down
He was havin' thoughts that maybe he should retire
Went to church on a Sunday and saw a deep frierSaid he had beef and people want him dead
He loved the hungry ones, was only scared of the Feds
He lived the fast life couldn't get his path right
Frier just told him 'bout the hooters that he had last nightTurned himself in to the paddy wagon, said no
Bacon wouldn't take him half the pigs on the payrollMy man said life ain't easy
When niggas gotta eat that's when shit gets greasy
Streets be all like feed me, feed me
When niggas gotta eat that's when shit gets greasyMy man said life ain't easy
When niggas gotta eat that's when shit gets greasyHey, to be continued on another menu, ya dig?
Will he give up his life of crime or will he stay?
This and other adventures on
Lupe Fiasco's next album L.U.P.ENDMy man said life ain't easy
When niggas gotta eat that's when shit gets greasy

Wasalu Muhammad Jaco (born February 16, 1982 in Chicago, Illinois), better known by his stage name Lupe Fiasco, is a Grammy Award-winning American hip-hop artist and producer. He first became known to the mainstream hip-hop community in 2005 when he appeared on Kanye West's album Late Registration on the track "Touch the Sky." In 2006 Lupe released his debut album, Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor on Atlantic Records, and in December 2007 he released his second full length album, Lupe Fiasco's The Cool. His next studio album, entitled Lasers, was released on March 8th 2011 after a protest against Atlantic's decision not to release it.

The Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free) Songfacts reports that Fiasco’s first single off his fourth studio album, Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1 debuted on May 21, 2012. On "Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free)," he spits rhymes about aspects of modern American life he doesn’t like such as "Suicide bombers and prosperity gospels, emaciated models, with cocaine and blood pouring out their nostrils” as well as socio-political problems in Ghana and the invasion of Iraq.

Lupe has previously been on label Epic with his group Da Pak and then signed a solo deal with Arista. His years at Arista only led to the 2003 promo single "Pop Pop" as well as guest appearances on singles from Tha' Rayne (2002's "Kiss Me" and 2003's "Didn't You Know") and K Fox (2003's "This Life"), then Arista folded in 2004 and Lupe was signed to Atlantic Records.
