Released in 1996 on Arista Records, and produced by Ric Ocasek of The Cars, 'Then Again, Maybe I Won't' was a 'zero hit wonder'. While having nothing to do with the cartoon, 'Johnny Bravo', the band's name had everything to do with The Brady Bunch's Greg Brady flirting with almost-fame under the record-exec's-imposed name and personna, Johnny Bravo, before Greg decided to stick to his artistic guns, refusing to be molded to someone else's definitions, even if it meant musical oblivion.
With influences ranging from punk to grunge to plain ole' rock, they did crank out some great stuff, reminiscent of Johnny Marr and The Healers, even though the latter proceeded the former.
Members included Ansley Lancourt, vocals and guitar, Brian Lancourt, Vocals and Bass, and Matt Fass, Drums.
Their commentary on the Reagan Era and other pleasantries/agonies of life in the US in the '80s ('Grew Up In The 80's'), the scars left by failed relationships (Used To Be Cool, When I See You), childhood lost (James At Fifteen), etc., should not be missed.
