Great Fire Lyrics

Great fire burning, you supplied the spark
Fires burning spreading through the ark
Animals are panicking
I'm animal and panickingYour glance, a match on the tinder wood
You never spoke but I understood
Bring water
Eyes, bring waterGreat fire burning through
Great fire burning through my house
Great fire burning through my house and heartGreat fire burning, all because of you
Fires burning spreading through the zoo
Animals are panicking
I'm animal panickingNo round of drinks can extinguish this
Feeling of love and engulfing bliss
Bring water
Eyes, bring waterGreat fire burning through
Great fire burning through my house
Great fire burning through my house and heartI've been in love before
But it's never been as hot as this

Smoke curling 'round the door
Memories of old loves crack and blister
Mister fireman bet you couldn't put me out if you triedYour glance, a match on the tinder wood
You never spoke but I understood
Bring water
Eyes, bring waterGreat fire burning
Great fire burningGreat fire burning through
Great fire burning through my house
Great fire burning through my house and heartGreat fire burning through
Great fire burning through my house
Great fire burning through my house and heartGreat fire burning through
Great fire burning through my house
Great fire burning through my house and heartGreat fire burning through
Great fire burning through my house
Great fire burning through my house and heart

XTC were an influential rock band (starting out as a post-punk outfit but eventually developing into a sound that was a mix of new wave and alternative/college rock) which formed Swindon, England in 1972. For most of their career, the band consisted of Andy Partridge (vocals, guitar), Colin Moulding (vocals, bass) and Dave Gregory (guitar, keyboards). Gregory replaced founding keyboardist Barry Andrews in 1979 and left himself in 1999.
