Green Green Grass of Home Lyrics

your hometown, looks the same, as i step down, from that train, there to meet me, at my momma, and my poppa. down the road i look, and there runs mary, here go and lips like cherry, its good, to touch, the green grass of home. yes they'll all come to meet me, arms reaching, smiling sweetly, its good, to touch, the green green grass of home. your house, still standing low, the paint is cracking dry, and there's an old, old tree, that i i i i used to play on. down the lane i walk, with my sweet mary, here go and lis like cherry, its good, to touch, the green green grass of home. yes they'll all come to meet me, arms reaching, smiling sweetly, its good, to touch, the green green grass of home. and i'll wait, and look around, for they all surround me, and i'll realize, that i i i i was only dreaming, for there is a god, and a sail old pile grave, all alone, with wall till day break, that i'm gonna touch, the green green grass of home. yes they'll all come to meet me, in the shade, of that old old tree, in that aiming me, that green green grass of home. they'll come by to meet me, in that shade of that old old tree, in that aiming, the green green grass of home.

In June of 2007 he released the critically acclaimed "Salvation in Lights" which married old time roots Gospel sounds with his own unique arrangements that were mainly inspired by New Orleans Black Gospel, Stax and the blues.
