Ground Hog Lyrics

Gather up your gun and call up your dog
(Gather up your gun and call up your dog)
Away to the woods, we'll catch a groundhog
(Groundhog, groundhog)Come here, Sal, and come here, Davey
(Come here, Sal, and come here, Davey)
Grab this bowl of groundhog gravy
(Groundhog, groundhog)Come here, Sal, with the big long pole
(Come here, Sal, with the big long pole)
Twist that whistle pig out of his hole
(Groundhog, groundhog)
Meat's in the cupboard and
The butter's in the churn
(Meat's in the cupboard and
The butter's in the churn)
If that ain't groundhog, I'll be durned
(Groundhog, groundhog)Here comes Sal with a snicker and a grin
(Here comes Sal with a snicker and a grin)
Groundhog grease all over her chin

(Groundhog, groundhog)
A little piece of cornbread laying on the shelf
(A little piece of cornbread laying on the shelf)
If you want anymore, you can sing it yourself
(Groundhog, groundhog)

There are three bands under the name The Browns. 1) The Browns were an American family singing group from Pine Bluff, Arkansas made up of Jim Ed Brown and his sisters, Maxine Brown and Bonnie Brown. Country music singers, they sang individually at rural venues until 1954 when Maxine Brown, and younger brother Jim Ed, signed a record contract as a singing duo. Eighteen-year-old Bonnie joined the group in 1955, and the following year they were signed by Chet Atkins, RCA Victor Records producer in Nashville, Tennessee.
