Hadda Be Playing on the Jukebox (live) Lyrics

Lookin' like a bunch of Frat boys at summer camp and shitIt hadda be flashin' like the daily double
Hadda be playin' on TV
Hadda be loud mouthed on the comedy hour
Hadda be announced over loud speakers
The CIA and the Mafia are in cahoots
It hadda be said in old ladies' language
It hadda be said in American headlines
Kennedy stretched and smiled
And got double crossed by lowlife goons and agents
Rich bankers with criminal connections
Dope pushers in CIA working with
Dope pushers from Cuba working with
Big time syndicate Tampa, FloridaIt hadda be said with a big mouth
It hadda be moaned over factory foghorns
It hadda be chattered on car radio news broadcasts
It hadda be screamed in the kitchenIt hadda be yelled in the basement where uncles were fighting
It hadda be howled on the streets by newsboys to bus conductors
It hadda be foghorned into New York harbor

It hadda echo under hard hatsIt hadda turn up the volume in the university ballrooms
Hadda be written in library books, footnoted
Hadda be in the headlines of the Times and Le Monde
It hadda be barked over TVHadda be heard in side alleys through ballroom doors
It hadda be played on wire services
Hadda be bells ringing
Comedians stopped dead in the middle of a joke in Las VegasHaddda be FBI chief J. Edgar Hoover
And Frank Costello syndicate mouthpiece
Meeting in Central Park, New York weekends
Reported Time magazineHadda be the Mafia and the CIA together starting war on Cuba
Bay of Pigs and poison assassination headlines
Hadda be dope cops in the Mafia
Sold all that heroin in AmericaHadda be the FBI and organized crime working it together in cahoots
Against the commiesHadda be ringing on multinational cash registers
World-wide laundry for organized criminal moneyHadda be the CIA and the Mafia and the FBI together
Bigger than Nixon and bigger than warHadda be a gorged throat full of murder
Hadda be a mounted ass, a solid mass of rage
Hadda be a red hot head
A scream in the back of the throatHadda be a Kissinger's brain
Hadda be in Rockefellers' mouth
Hadda be the central intelligence, the family, offing the agency Mafia
One big set of gangs working together in cahootsHitmen
Murderers everywhere
Outrage gonna make
Secret, drunk, brutal, dirty, and richOn top of a slag heap of prisons
Industrial cancer
Plutonium smog
Garbage cities, grandmas' bedsoresFathers' resentments
Hadda be the rulers
Wanting law and order
And they got rich on wanting protection for the status quoWanted junkies
Wanted Attica
Wanted Kent State
Wanted war in IndochinaYeah
It hadda be the CIA and the Mafia and the FBI
Multinational capitalists
Strong armed squads
Private detective agencies for the oh so very richAnd their armies, their navies and air force bombing planes
Hadda be capitalism
The vortex of this rage
This competition man to manThe horses head in a capitalists' bed
The Cuban's turf ? competitions
Hitmen in gang wars across oceansBombing Cambodia settled the score
With White House pots and pans
A warning to Mediterranean governmentsThe secret police have braced for decadesThe NKPD and CIA keep each other's secrets
The OGBU and DIA never hit their own
The KGB and the FBI one mindBrute force and full of money
One mind, brute force, and full of money
One mind, brute force, and full of money
One mind, brute force, and full of money
One mind, brute force, and full of moneyAnd full of money
And full of money
And full of moneyIt hadda be rich and they hadda be powerful
They hadda murder in Indonesia five hundred thousand
Hadda murder in Indochina two million
Hadda murder in Czechoslovakia
Hadda murder in Chile
Hadda murder in Russia
And hadda murder in AmericaThat was a poem by Allen Ginsberg
Called "Hadda Be Playing on the Jukebox"
He's a great poet

Rage Against the Machine is an American rap metal band, formed in 1991 in Los Angeles, California. They are often mis-categorized as nu metal or rapcore. The band's line-up comprises vocalist Zack De La Rocha, guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk. Critics have noted Rage Against the Machine for its "fiercely polemical music, which brewed sloganeering leftist rants against corporate America, cultural imperialism, and government oppression into a Molotov cocktail of hardcore punk, hip hop, alternative metal, and funk." Rage Against the Machine drew inspiration from early heavy metal instrumentation, as well as rap acts such as Afrika Bambaataa, Public Enemy and Beastie Boys.

In 1992, the band released its self-titled debut album, which became a commercial success, leading to a slot in the 1993 Lollapalooza. The band did not release a follow-up record until 1996, with Evil Empire. The band's third album The Battle of Los Angeles was released in 1999. During their initial nine year run, they became one of the most popular and influential political bands in contemporary music.

Shortly after breaking up in 2000, the band released the cover album Renegades. De la Rocha & Morello both started low-key solo careers; the rest of the band formed the rock supergroup Audioslave with Chris Cornell, then-former frontman of Soundgarden, which disbanded in 2007, and in April of that year, Rage Against the Machine performed together for the first time in seven years at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The band has continued to perform at many live venues and festivals around the world since 2007 but have not recorded any new studio material, as of yet.

Due to a popular Facebook Campaign in 2009, the band managed to beat Joe McElderry, winner of the X Factor 2009, to the UK Christmas number one spot. This broke the chain of X Factor winners reaching the Christmas number one spot. To celebrate, Rage Against the Machine held a free gig to show their gratitude towards their fans.
