Hallelujah Lyrics

Take your last step towards heaven and its glow,
Take your last breath of sunlight don't let it go,
Take you last look to remember now so that you know,
I won't let you fade from no minds,
I won't let you fade from no minds, hey hey now,
I won't let you fade from no minds,
And Hallelujah for these eyes to see your painted life,
Hallelujah for the touch of skin to skin with mine,
Hallelujah for this mind that keeps our souls combined,
Hallelujah for this life that let me be your child,
Have your mind have your strength to stay alive,
And keep your eyes open with mine, now, oh no
You followed the road for the angels and left me behind,
A face without words can last a lifetime it's never the same,
So don't say goodbyes they last forever now
Hold on just for a while for I'll be by to see you someday soon now,

Please hold on tonight, oh, cause I'm holding, I'm holding up
And Hallelujah for these eyes to see your painted life,
Hallelujah for the touch of skin to skin with mine,
Hallelujah for this mind that keeps our souls combined,
Hallelujah for this life that let me be your child
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
To be a part of your life to inside of all your smiles,
You're a traffic light of fire,
You're a man who I believe will never die.

Virginia "Gin" Wigmore is a New Zealand singer/songwriter who was born in Auckland, New Zealand, where she spent most of her childhood. However, while in Argentina at age 16 her father died of cancer. Upon her return to New Zealand, she articulated in song, the pain of losing her father. One of those early penned songs, “Hallelujah”, won the US-based International Songwriting Competition in 2004[2], when she beat 11,000 songwriting aspirants from 77 countries to become the youngest and only unsigned Grand Prize winner in the history of the ISC. "Hallelujah" was also featured in the season 6 finale of One Tree Hill.

Extended Play was Wigmore's first EP. It was produced by Tony Buchen (Blue King Brown, The Whitlams, Macromantics, Kid Confucius) and contains the tracks "Hallelujah", "These Roses", "SOS", "Under My Skin", and "Easy Come Easy Go". Released in 2008, it has peaked at number ten in the New Zealand charts. The EP was certified Gold in New Zealand on June 7, 2009, selling over 7,500 copies.[4]

Extended Play was released in Australia on 2 August 2008 by Island Records. Wigmore was the first artist signed with Island Records, a partner company with Universal Music Group, Australia[3].

The EP features renowned Australian musician John Butler on ukulele on Wigmore's song "SOS".[3]

Wigmore toured with Australian artist, Pete Murray, on his national tour in August/September 2008. Wigmore toured in 2008, including at the Cross Town Revue in Auckland, New Zealand, and in December 2008, toured with musicians John Mellencamp and Sheryl Crow in New Zealand.

Wigmore's sister, Lucy Wigmore, played Justine Jones in the long running New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street.

Recent work has seen her featured in the song and video of the new group, Smashproof, also from Auckland, New Zealand. The song, "Brother", was released in early 2009.
