Happy Song (Tonite) Lyrics

Tonight
Gotta take these records off the shelf
Play somethin' special for yourself
It's over now
Gotta leave your troubles far behind
Or just enough to ease your mind
'Cuz only time can decide
Baby, you'll be alright this time
(Oh, oh, oh, oh I, oh I)
This time
(Oh, oh, oh, oh I, oh I)Say my name, when you feel the pain?
I'll be there to shelter when it's pourin' rain
If I can do anything
Girl you know, I'll tryTimes are rough
You feel you're goin' nowhere
Your sadness hurts so bad
And there's no one to careThe sun shines after the rain
Girl I know

'Cuz I been there before
In this world all alone
And you been there for me
And you gave me your allI've there before
You'll come around
And you'll be alright
'Cuz this is your time, soTonight
Gotta take these records off the shelf
Play somethin' special for yourself
It's over now
(Now)
Gotta leave your troubles far behind
(Far behind)
Or just enough to ease your mind
'Cuz only time can decide
(Can decide)
Baby, you'll be alright this time, yeah
(Oh, oh, oh, oh I, oh I)
This time, yeah
(Oh, oh, oh, oh I, oh I)Just when you think love's about to end
That's when you find a new beginning
It's a part of life
(Life)You wonder why you go all through a change?
Why it seemed like things never go your way?
Girl, I know how it feels to be alone?
'Cuz I been there before at the bottom alone
I know the way to reach the topYou got to let go
I've been insecure
You'll come around
And you'll be alright
'Cuz this is your time, soTonight
Gotta take these records off the shelf
Play somethin' special for yourself
It's over now
Gotta leave your troubles far behind
(Far behind)
Or just enough to ease your mind
'Cuz only time can decide
(Time)
(Can decide)
Baby, you'll be alright this time
Oh, oh
Yeah, yeahWhoa
Tonight
Gotta take these records off the shelf
Play somethin' special for yourself
It's over now
(Now)
Gotta leave your troubles far behind
(Far behind)
Or just enough to ease your mindWhoa
Tonight
(Remember the time for each other)
Gotta take these records off the shelf
(By the day we'll be there forever)
Play somethin' special for yourself
(You already have there)
It's over now
(You never know the rain can come)
Gotta leave your troubles far behind
(You can call me anytime)
Or just enough to ease your mind
(Enough we have in here, baby)Whoa, tonight
(Whoa, tonight)
Gotta take these records off the shelf
Play somethin' special for yourself
Oh, tonight
Troubles are far behind
Let me ease your mindWhoa
Tonight
Gotta take these records off the shelf
Play somethin' special for yourself
It's over now
Gotta leave your troubles far behind
Or just enough to ease your mind

Blackstreet was an American R&B group founded in 1994 by Teddy Riley, a New Jack Swing pioneer known for his work as a member of Guy. The band members were: Teddy Riley, Chauncey Hannibal, Eric Williams, and Terrell Philips (and formerly Joe Stonestreet, Levi Little, David Hollister, and Mark Middleton). Their debut album, Blackstreet, was a moderate success due to the singles "Booti Call" and "Before I Let You Go", both Top 40 hits ("Before" hit the Top 10). The follow-up, 1996's Another Level was a breakthrough success due to the top single "No Diggity" (with Dr. Dre), which was a #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in November 1996, and won the 1998 Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, along with the Top 40 hit "Don't Leave Me". Another Level eventually went four times platinum in the United States and peaked at #3 on the Billboard chart. "No Diggity" is ranked at #91 on Rolling Stone and MTV: 100 Greatest Pop Songs, while Blackstreet comes in at #214 of the Top 500 Pop Artists of the Past 25 Years.

Blackstreet has also collaborated with Jay-Z on his single "The City is Mine". With the help of the Janet Jackson single "Girlfriend", Blackstreet finally had a top ten album with Finally. But personnel shifts wracked the group and contributed to the relative failure of Finally in 1999, and Blackstreet soon broke up. After rumors of legal action and a preemptive countersuit, the group re-banded and released Level II in 2003.

In 2006 They are part of New Jack Reunion Tour Line up.
