Harsher Than Whiskey Lyrics

I spend my days
Sleeping off the nights that I spent in your haze
That I spent in your bed wide awake
You in your bed wide awakeI lost my way
Somewhere down the line where your hips meet the sheets
And then vanish away
So I jumped the tracks
And I took the next train that could take me away
To get out of this placeI said Line them up please,
O, lonely bartender
Cause Im gonna drink her off of my mind
I shouldnt have left west on railroad steel
Now Im gonna drink, her blue eyes right out of my mind
I spend my nights
Lying wide away and remember her taste
Her lips they were sweeter than strawberry wine
But they went down like whiskey
And burned the whole wayI said Line them up please,

O, lonely bartender
Cause Im gonna drink her off of my mind
I shouldnt have left west on railroad steel
Now Im gonna drink, her blue eyes right out of my mind

For those who don't know, The Senators were a British band who were around in the late 80s and early 90s, and consisted of two brothers - Mick and Jim Kitson. Their music is not always easy to classify - I've heard it described as various things, from pop to soul to folk, and in truth there are Senators songs which fit into all of those categories. Unlike a lot of music from that period however, their records don't seem horribly dated today, so if it didn't sound so toe-curlingly pretentious, I'd describe their music as 'timeless'.
