Haven't Met You Lyrics

There's a half a million sunsets I haven't gotten to show you
Don't ask me how I know
But I know they steal your breath
And I can almost feel the feeling that you're gonna give me
Especially when you kiss me like no one ever has
You're so real, I can't explain it
Don't keep me waiting
Thirty-thousand feet upon a plane
You could be the dream I always chased
Every second, every place
Always looking for your face
And I know it's one I'll never forget
So I guess I haven't met you yet
I saw two people talking in a corner booth cafe
Lookin' so in love
Maybe that can be us someday
I don't know what you're doing, I don't know where you are
But I swear girl when I meet you, you already have my heart

Thirty-thousand feet upon a plane
You could be a dream that I always chased
Every second, every place
Always looking for your face
And I know it's one I'll never forget
So I guess I haven't met you yetNot yet, I still haven't got to hold you
Not yet, I still toss around this place
Not yet, I still want you in my arms and out of my head
Thirty-thousand feet upon a plane
Where ever you are, I'm on my way
Every second, every place
Always looking for your face
And I know it's one I'll never forget
So I guess I haven't met you yet
Oh I guess I haven't met you yetI haven't met you, I have't met you, I haven't met you yet

Some life-changing moments are only apparent in retrospect. Brett Eldredge recognized his as it was happening. The Paris, IL, native was visiting Nashville for the first time early in his sophomore year at Chicago's Elmhurst College. He was at the Station Inn, an historic bluegrass/country venue where many of the greats of both worlds have played. His cousin Terry, a veteran of Dolly Parton's band and now a member of the Grascals, was playing with a band called the Sidemen, and a mesmerized Brett was in the crowd.
