He Bought My Soul At Calvary Lyrics

He Bought My Soul At Calvary
There's a cross for everyone to bear
But there's a heaven for each soul to share.
There's a place in Heaven waiting me,
I got it through His death at Calvary.
Chorus:
Each drop of blood bought me a million years.
A soul was born each time He shed a tear.
He loosed the chains that fettered you and me.
He bought my soul through death at Calvary.
Though days are long and often filled with care
I talk to Him and with each wond’rous pray’r
He bids me stay and gives new strength to me
He bought my soul through death at Calvary

Chorus
Each days that rolls I’m nearer to his side
I know that Christ will always be my guide
I breathe his name each time I see a tree
On one he bought my soul at Calvary

The Alexander Brothers are an easy-listening folk-music duo from Scotland, who have been performing since the 1950s. Tom Alexander (1934 - ) and Jack Alexander (1935- ) were born in Cambusnethan, near Wishaw. On leaving school in the early fifties, the brothers pursued a trade as painters and decorators by day, and entertainers by night, and spent most of their spare time performing for elderly people in hospitals and for various charitable institutions in and around their hometown. In the spring of 1958, they entered a talent contest which was held in their local cinema.
