He Chose Me Lyrics

Dreadful and burdened, no peace within
Lost and afflicted, seems there's no end
No hope for sign can I see this time I just can't get through
At an alter of prayer, He met me there
He lifted my burdens and calmed all my fears
When the Blood was applied, the answer came by
Thank God He chose me
He was there in the middle of the night
when I lifted my hands and started to cry
The Blood met me there when I was down on my knees
I called out and He heard my plea
He could have been calming the storms in the seas
or lifting the sickness or healing disease
but He heard my cry and left them aside
Thank God He chose me
Mercy came down and overtook my soul

Gave life a new meaning now I'm happy and whole
No longer ashamed (afraid in one version) of the sins I once owed
You see His Grace covered me
In the desert I was hot and I was thirsty and dry
No hope for tomorrow, not a prayer in sight
Interceding my needs because I believe
Thank God He chose me.
