He Was a Friend of Mine Lyrics

Jerry Jeff WalkerHe was a friend of mine, yeah, he was a friend of mine
He never had no money, he never was satisfied
But he was a friend of mineHe died on the road, he died on the road
He was just a poor boy, a long way from home
Cause he was a friend of mineI stole away and cried, I stole away and cried
When I think about him, I still can't keep from crying
Cause he was a friend of mineHe was a friend of mine, he was a friend of mine
He never had no money, nah, he never was satisfied
But he was a friend of mineHe was a friend of mine, he was a friend of mine
He was just a poor boy, long way from home
But he was a friend of mine
