Heart On My Sleeve Lyrics

Let me be your porch light
Your favorite star on the best night
A good year, a good fight (let me be)
Let me be a night walk
Locked eyes in the midday sun spark
Good love your whole lifeLet me be, one hand, finding one hand
Two hearts making amends
With themselves at their end
'Cause I'm not sure who I was before
But the day I saw you at your door
You opened up the things I shut, the things I shutFast speed, got my heart on my sleeve
You're the one I gotta have
Might be just what I need
You're the one I gotta haveLet me be your compass
The light that you see in a sunset
Good love, your whole lifeLet me be one hand, finding one hand
Two hearts making amends
With themselves at their end

I'm not sure who I was before
But the day I saw you at your door
You opened up the things I shut, the things I shutFast speed, got my heart on my sleeve
You're the one I gotta have
Might be just what I need
You're the one I gotta haveI could be
Let me be
I could be your
I could be your heart speed
Running as fast as a beat will take usI could be
Let me be
I could be your
I could be your heart speed
Running as fast as a beat will take usYeahFast speed, got my heart on my sleeve
You're the one I gotta have
Might be just what I need
You're the one I gotta haveYou're the one I gotta have
You're the one I gotta have

Mary Lambert is good at two things; crying and eating. Nowhere is this better reflected than on her debut EP ‘letters don’t talk’ released in July of 2012. Burrowed away with her friends in the woods of Sequim, Washington recording with the production team of Dungeness Records, she spent 2 years finessing and crafting the poignant and earnest collection of songs. Resembling the subdued softness of artists like Feist and Bon Iver, Lambert has carved a niche for herself, winding profound lyricism around breathy, haunting melodies.
