Heart of a Hero (From "Hero") Lyrics

Hero, HeroSomeone above keeps sendin' us love
He wants us to love each other
You see, the more we give, the better we live
Lets help the world of the futureWe're singin', oh happy day
This life is for us
Life without love is a zero
(Come on, sing it together!)
Oh happy day, I heard someone say
inside every heart is a hero
You're a hero
If you're a friend to every man,
you're that much closer to Heaven
Heaven knows the love we share, God wants us to care
Think of the world we'll be gettingKeep singing, oh happy day
This world is for us,
The world without love is a zero
(There ain't nothin' to it!)
Oh happy day, give love to someone

and you'll have the heart of a hero
You're a heroSometimes a hero doesn't know he's a hero
and that's the beauty of sharing love
And it doesn't take superman,
just plain ordinary people,
trying to give someone a hand, if they can
TOGETHER
Oh happy day, thank GOD for his love
cuz life with no love is a zero
(Come on, sing it together!)
Oh happy day, give love to someone
and you'll have the heart of a hero
(oh yes you will!)Oh happy day, life is for us
cuz life without love is a zero
(I wanna hear everybody say)
Oh happy day, I've heard someone say
that inside every heart is a hero
You're a hero
Say it! Hero

Luther Ronzoni Vandross (April 20, 1951 - July 1, 2005) was an american soul and rnb singer whose career spanned four decades.

In the 70s, he worked as a backing singer Chic and for David Bowie (on the Young Americans album). He later found success as a solo artist with Superstar and A House Is Not A Home.

In the 80s, Vandross was a vocalist on early Change singles (Searching), whilst continuing his solo career with such releases as "Never Too Much", "Power Of Love/Love Power", "If Only For One Night", "Here And Now".

In the 90s, he was more famous for duets with Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey (amongst others), than for his solo work.

It was an ongoing battle with his weight that may have ultimately proved his undoing. He suffered a stroke in 2003, from which he never really recovered, and died in 2005.

During his career, he sold 25 million albums and won eight Grammy awards including Best Male R&B Vocal Performance four times. He won four Grammy awards in 2004, including the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for the track "Dance With My Father," co-written with Richard Marx.
