Heartless Lyrics

You scared me so with all the woe
and all the pain that came and rained
down into your paddling pool you foolAnd when I fled the scene
I did not mean to steal your heart
But you gave me control
And it's a role I should never be allowed soYou died in my care tonight
I walked you down the tunnel into the light
You died in my care tonight
And now I know I am heartless manI'm such a child but I play the man
I do not think I can
Coz all I want to do is play with my crayons
And pretend like I rule the worldWell don't you take me back coz I will run
When you tie me down I come undone
No I don't want to play out with you no moreAnd I would make you things to make you think
All the things I think I thought I wanted you to know
Know now I think I loved you more the life its self but stillYou died in my care tonight
I walked you down the tunnel into the light
You died in my care tonight

And now I know I am heartless manYou always kept the lid on your pen
You never lent yourself
You always made me steal from you
Silly you silly you
And now the loudest noise and the brightest lights
And the biggest thrills will bury you when I'm gone
Now I'm gone I'm goneYou died in my care tonight
I walked you down the tunnel into the light
You died in my care tonight
And now I know, I know, I know I'm a heartless man

https://www.facebook.com/ianbrittmusic I’ve become been one of those artists who are hard to pin down easily. In some ways I fit into the singer songwriter plot nicely, but then with tracks like “Instincts” or “In the Middle” I took the acoustic foundation and pushed it somewhere quite different. Different from the traditional Americana approach, yet not far enough to scare the in-laws.
