Heidi Lyrics

His dad's loaded, least that's what he says
He's so good at making promises
Walks on water — yeah, he treats you fine
Kinda jealous, somehow, you don't mindIt's him or me — you don't owe me
Please don't explain
Want you to know that he'll only
Leave you in painI shoulda known you're still Heidi
You'll never change
Heidi with the broken heartYou're so happy, this time's different
Said he loved you 'til the day he left
You don't know when he'll be coming back
You'll keep busy with the wedding plansIt's him or me — you don't owe me
Please don't explain
Want you to know that he'll only
Leave you in painI shoulda known you're still Heidi
You'll never change
Heidi with the broken heartYou say he's waiting for you at his daddy's house
I'd say that you're only waiting to be let downIt's him or me — you don't owe me

Please don't explain
Want you to know that he'll only
Leave you in painI shoulda known you're still Heidi
You'll never change
Heidi with the broken heartHeidi with the broken heart

To call Jeremy Messersmith a musician is half-truth: He’s also a storyteller, who has carefully crafted a trilogy of songs that narrate life. His first full-length release The Alcatraz Kid is a moving collection of acoustic-driven lullabies with titles like “Novocain” and “Beautiful Children” that innocently question the purpose of things to come. The integrity of these delicate songs immediately struck a chord with critics and fans alike, and captured the attention of Semisonic’s Dan Wilson, who offered to produce Messersmith’s follow-up album, The Silver City.
