Helping Hand Lyrics

Been ignored and I been abused
Been mistreated and I've been misused
Been discouraged and turned aside
Overloaded when my hand's are tiedThat's the time, when I need a hand
A helping hand, I need a helping handThings I do are criticized
Ripped to pieces and analyzed
I tell the truth and they call me a liar
Exaggerator and a magnifierThat's the time, I need a hand
A helping hand, I need a helping handThere were times when I lived alone
Lock the doors, disconnect the phone
I warn everybody, tell 'em not to call
Complete isolation, I need most of all
But after awhile I need some company
I tell my friends, come see about meThat's the time, when I need a hand
Need a helping hand, need a helping handNeed a helping hand, I need a helping hand
Need a helping hand, I need a helping handI need somebody to stand by me
I need somebody to stand by meI need a hand, I need a helping hand
I need a hand, I need a helping handI need somebody, I need somebody

I need somebody, hey, to stand by my meWhoa, I need somebody, I need somebody
I need, I need, I need, I need, I need, I need somebody

In the late 1960s, Roger Earl and Lonesome Dave Peverett first toured America as members of the seminal British band Savoy Brown . Together with guitarist Kim Simmonds, Savoy Brown was on the cutting edge of the emerging British blues-rock scene, and they influenced countless musicians on both sides of the Atlantic. In 1971, wanting to give a more rock 'n roll flavour to the blues-boogie music they were playing with Savoy, Dave and Roger enlisted lead/slide guitarist Rod Price and bassist Tony Stevens, formed a new band, Foghat.
