Here's Where I Stand Lyrics

HERE IN THE DARK
I STAND BEFORE YOU
KNOWING THIS IS MY CHANCE TO SHOW YOU MY HEART
THIS IS THE START,THIS IS THE START
I HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY AND IM HOPING
THAT YOUR ARMS ARE OPEN
DONT TURN AWAY I WANT YOU NEAR ME
BUT YOU HAVE TO HEAR
HERES WHERE I STAND
HERS WHO I AM
LOVE ME BUT DONT TELL WHO I HAVE TO BE
HERES WHO I AM
IM WHAT YOU SEE
YOU SAID I CHANGE AND I WAS TRYING
BUT MY HEART WAS LYING
IM NOT A CHILD ANY LONGER

I AM STRONGER
HERES WHERE I STAND
HERES WHO I AM
HELP ME TO MOVE ON BUT PLEASE DONT TELL ME HOW
IM ON MY WAY
IM MOVING OUT
IN THIS LIFE WE'VE COME SO FAR
BUT WE'RE ONLY WHO WE ARE
THE COURAGE OF LOVE
SHO US THE WAY
WE'VE GOT THE POWER TO STAND UP AND SAY
HERE'S WHERE I STAND
HERE'S WHO I AM
LOVE ME
LOVE ME
LOVE ME
AND WE'LL MAKE IT THROUGH
HERE'S WHERE I STAND
HERE'S WHO I AM
BABY
BABY
BABY
I'M COUNTING ON YOU
HERES WHERE I STAND
LOVE ME
LOVE ME
LOVE ME
AND WE'LL MAKE IT THROUGH
IM COUNTING
OHH IN COUNTING
IM COUNTING,IM COUNTING ON YOU

The Harvard Opportunes is Harvard's oldest co-ed student A'Capella group. In 1980, two Harvard-Radcliffe students, Simin Yazdgerdi and Suzanne Goldsmith, transformed a loosely organized co-ed singing group called the Harvard Squares into Harvard’s first full-fledged mixed a cappella ensemble. While the name has changed from Harvard-Radcliffe to Harvard, The Opportunes have had consistent intricate six-to-eight-part harmonies, black tie and black velvet dresses, and sense of humor.
