Hey Lyrics

Scorpio, Cancer, Leo, Taurus, Sagittarius
Hey, hey, heyNow, if there's a party theres about to be
Then let me start queuing up the frequency
Six members, fresh spinners, we make the fly ladies say
Hey, heyThe Shak-Zulu shot a rhyme right through you
Now your don't want static with my crew now, do you?
C.A. all day, we make the party people say
Hey, heyCheck it, regardless what you heard this year
The party atmosphere is only crackin' right here
And uh, we givin' you the theme that ya want
Cha come clean if ya want, know what I mean
If ya don't becauseWe just wanna get you out
To the party everybody's talkin' 'boutAnd you don't have to worry 'bout a fee
Ya see, it's all vi-a-vi
Because you're rollin' with me and uhWe just wanna get you out
To the party everybody's talkin' 'bout rollingYo, we thought we'd come a little different
Somethin' unscripted push up our percentage
Rip it like we meant it vintage verses

Sentence word smith here with no delayRelax and don't decay
Turn to the DJ
He can make ya people say
Hey, heyYeah, yeah, party people in the place to be
It's all live 'cause the party is packed
(No straps, just raps)
Sweat drippin' ain't nobody set trippin'All the ladies testifyin' to that
Hey, hey
Ay yo, I'm feelin' the vibe
Take you on a natural high
Boogie wonderland 'cause we gonna party tonight, yo'Cause we just wanna party wit' you
Hey, hey
Open up your mind and let the vibe flow through
(Uh)
'Cause you don't have to worry 'bout a thing
Let the rhythm heal your brain
While the party people sing
(Hey)Yo, the more you offer, displayin' your inner visions
Oral officers will be freein' your inhibitions
So skip an intermission and suddenly parlay
'Cause movers are hot pumpin' in butter from parkwayYou wonderin' what that prehistoric force is
Make you scream
Hey, hey
Like a heard of hungry horsesYes, the music you approached me with was inappropriate
Cause me and my associates are closely knit shit
The main course on the menu for today say
Hey, hey
(Talking in background)
Hey, heyNow if theres a party for the gangstas here
The DJ's spinnin' records you don't wanna here
To have it your way
Participate and make him play
Hey, heyI represent it, get wit it for the hood
The lights is turned low and the mood is all good
Whether you parlay or on the dance floor say
Hey, heyRegardless what you heard this year
The party atmosphere is only crackin' right here
And uh, we givin' you the theme that ya want
Cha come clean if ya want, know what I mean
If ya don't becauseWe just wanna get you out
To the party everybody's talkin' 'bout ChasAnd you don't have to worry it's enough
No guest lists and stuff because you're rollin' with us
Now if theres a party theres about to be
Then let me start queuing up the frequencySix members fresh spinners
We make the fly ladies say
Hey, hey
C'mon, the Shak-Zulu shot a rhyme right through you
Now your don't want static with my crew now, do you?C.A. all day, to make the party people say
Hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, heyAnd all round you people are screaming
Nation tan, nation tan, nation tan, nation tan
Shit, here it come again, here it come again
Here it come again, here it come again
Here it come again

Jurassic 5 was originally a six-piece hip-hop crew that was formed in 1993 at the Los Angeles, California venue Good Life. Rappers Chali 2na, Akil, Zaakir aka Soup, Mark 7even, and turntable maestros DJ Nu-Mark and DJ Cut Chemist came together from two separate crews, the Rebels of Rhythm and Unity Committee. Cut Chemist left the band in 2006 to pursue a solo career.

The group debuted for TVT Records in 1995 with the single for Unified Rebelution. Their acclaimed position in the 1990s alternative hip-hop movement, alongside artists including Company Flow, Black Star and Kool Keith, was confirmed when the Jurassic 5 EP was released in December 1997.

The EP was later repackaged with additional tracks and released in December 1998 as the band's full-length debut album, entitled Jurassic 5 LP.

The tracks harked back to the old school attitude of new york's Native Tongues Posse, the seminal late 1980s coalition of artists who reaffirmed rap's social agenda, which included De La Soul, the Jungle Brothers and A Tribe Called Quest. This was evident on the song Concrete Schoolyard ("Let's take it back to the concrete streets/Original beats from real live MCs"), and the album even provided the troupe with a surprise uk Top 40 single when it reached number 35 in November 1998. The other stand-out track, Jayou, was built around a hypnotic flute loop from Pleasure Web's Music Man Part 1 (Music Man Part 1).

In 1999, Jurassic 5 signed to Interscope Records, who re-released the Jurassic 5 EP. This was followed by their second album (their first on a major label), Quality Control.

In 2002, they released their third album, Power In Numbers, which was followed by touring with the newly-revived Lollapalooza festival in the summer of 2003.

Their latest album, Feedback, was released on July 25, 2006.

On March 21, 2007, in an interview with the Australian news outlet News.com.au, Zaakir confirmed that the band would be breaking up after their current and final live-tour.
