Hey Nonny Nonny Lyrics

Beauty sat bathing by a spring where fairest shades did hide her
the winds blew calm the birds did sing the cool streams ran beside her
my wanton thoughts enticed mine eye to see what was forbidden
but better memory said "fie" so vain desire was chiddenhey nonny nonny oh hey nonny nonny
hey nonny nonny oh hey nonny nonnie
hey nonny nonny oh hey nonny nonny
hey nonny nonny oh hey nonny nonnieinto a slumber then I fell when fond imagination
seemed to see but could not tell her feature or her fashion
but even as babes in dreams do smile and sometimes fall a weeping
so I awaked as wise this while as when I fell a-sleepinghey nonny nonny oh hey nonny nonny
hey nonny nonny oh hey nonny nonnie
hey nonny nonny oh hey nonny nonny
hey nonny nonny oh hey nonny nonniesay man are you down for doing something positive in the community?
no not really
well ain't you worried about doing the right thing?
well I don't careBeauty sat bathing by a spring where fairest shades did hide her
the winds blew calm the birds did sing the cool streams ran beside her
my wanton thoughts enticed mine eye to see what was forbidden

but better memory said "fie" so vain desire was chiddenhey nonny nonny oh hey nonny nonny
hey nonny nonny oh hey nonny nonnie
hey nonny nonny oh hey nonny nonny
hey nonny nonny oh hey nonny nonnie
hey nonny nonny oh hey nonny nonny
hey nonny nonny oh hey nonny nonnie
hey nonny nonny oh hey nonny nonny
hey nonny nonny oh hey nonny nonnie

The Violent Femmes were an alternative rock band, formed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States in 1980. The band originally consisted of Gordon Gano (vocals, guitar), Brian Ritchie (bass), and Victor DeLorenzo (drums), with second drummer Guy Hoffman being added into the band in 1993. The band split in early 2009, their last recording being a cover of the Gnarls Barkley song "Crazy", a response to Gnarls Barkley's cover of the Femmes song "Gone Daddy Gone" released the previous year.
