Hey You Lyrics

Don't you ever get tired of the noise?
Don't you ever get bored with the crowd?
If they have so much to say
Would they have to talk so loud
Why don't we get out of here
'Cause I want to whisper in your earHey you
Are you listening to me?
I gotta tell you what you mean to me
You're the one I want to tell my secrets to
Hey youThere's some things that I need to say
There's some things we've gotta talk about
I've gotta have your full attention
'Cause I don't wanna have to shout
Even though you're right here near me
Well I wonder if you ever hear meHey you
Are you listening to me?
I gotta tell you what you mean to me
You're the one I want to tell my secrets to

Hey you, hey you, hey youEverybody's just dyin' to be heard
Everybody they wanna know why
Everybody's gotta have the last word
And it's always gotta be goodbye
Why don't we get out of here
'Cause I want to whisper in your earHey you
Are you listening to me?
I gotta tell you what you mean to me
You're the one I want to tell my secrets toHey you
Are you listening to me?
I gotta tell you what you mean to me
You're the one I want to tell my secrets to
Hey you, hey you, hey you

Around the time Jack Ingram started writing songs and performing, he was studying psychology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. "Music and psychology come from the same place," he says. "It's about studying why people tick. I write songs to figure out my world, why people act the way they do, why they make the decisions they do."
Lucky for us, Ingram chose a career in music-and discovered an altogether different kind of therapy. He weaved his questions about life into songs whose depth and incisive wit were matched only by their melodic resonance and insistent hooks.
